Week 7

Sunday 5th November:
This week has gone so quickly; we have been quite busy as we have had Adam come to visit for the latter half of the week, which was really nice.

We went to uni on Monday, so we didn’t really do much apart from go the gym and to classes. On Tuesday, we went to the gym again and did bits and bobs in the day. It was Halloween so Callum came round so we all watched Hocus Pocus. We then decided to dress up and go out for a drink. I planned to go as Princess Leia, so I did the two buns in my hair and wore a baggy white jumper – but the waiters thought I was trying to be a kitten!

The 1st November is a national holiday in Spain so all the shops were shut and there were no classes on. We stayed in for most of the day and did some work, and then went to meet Adam at the train station. We went out for drinks that night, but it was quite a quiet day.
On Thursday we went to the centre of Valladolid and walked around – I have to admit I did get lost but I found that there was quite a lot we hadn’t yet seen so it was nice to explore a bit more! On Friday we then got the bus to the Rio shopping centre and had a look round there. In the evening we went to the Bistro for a meal – it definitely made a change from salad! I had a vegetable lasagne and a coffee and Baileys sorbet for desert which was amazing! We then met the others for drinks later on.

Yesterday was quite a quiet day – we were going to go to Salamanca but on Saturdays the trains to and from there aren’t great. Instead, we went on a bike ride and showed Adam round the university etc., as we hadn’t been to that part of the city yet. We kept having power cuts so the internet kept cutting out at the flat and was being pretty rubbish. Today it is still being quite temperamental – we also didn’t have any power in the fridge last night so we have pretty much had to throw everything away. It’s the worst day for it to happen as the supermarkets aren’t open! Thank goodness for cous cous and tins of tuna, as that’s our diet for today!

My mum and my aunty Mandy are coming to visit tomorrow so I can’t wait to see them!

Grace xx
